  • Participated in front end analysis: identifying audience needs, identifying performance gaps, prioritizing needs and setting instructional goals for multiple clients at UC.
  • Designed and developed an on-line Basic Regulatory & Ethical Treatment of Animal course using Articulate software. Included: identifying learning objectives, applying e-learning strategy and using adult learning theory to create instructional material.
  • Registered and tracked course data for UCSF employees using Sum Total Learning Management System. Solved enrollment and registration problems.
Resulted in successful launch of several course to the LMS.  User and client reviews indicated the material was extremely effective in maintaining learner engagement and employing rich content across multiple platforms and learning styles.

 

Instructional Designer (contractor) at Intrax Cultural Exchange
January 2010 – June 2010

  • Created engaging e-learning modules to support host families of international educational/cultural exchange programs. Followed instructional design principles to prioritize audience needs, define instructional goals, and design e-learning strategy.
  • Created a web 2.0 community of practice for employees and clients to share information, collaborate and grow a knowledge network. Site included: blog feeder, wiki, discussion forums, instructional videos and other collaborative tools.

Resulted in launch of on-line host family training course designed to create a real-world simulation where families were able to makes choices about how to respond to challenges and receive constructive feedback. Further support could be found by joining the host family exchange community group.

  • Identified learning objectives in Airtreks’ new employee training program and completely redesigned it utilizing subject matter experts, assessment methods, and greater accountability.
  • Conducted thorough performance analysis of employee behavior and designed instruction using the ADDIE model. Made recommendations to management on ideas to bridge performance gaps and deliver training presentations when applicable.
  • Resulted in one of the most highly trained and competent work staff in the around-the-world ticket industry.

  • Coordinated travel arrangements for San Francisco International Film Festival 1999-2003. Other corporate clients included Monster Cable, Great Place to Work, Silicon Genetics, AI Architecture, and the San Francisco Butoh Festival.
